Mika Newton, is a 28 year old Ukrainian singer and actress (starred in “Life By Surprise” and “Money For Daughter”) from the city of Burshtyn. Born and raised in Ukraine, the singer currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Mika Newton’s electrifying vocals, bombshell beauty, and captivating stage presence made her one of the most respected and popular artists in her native Ukraine. But following an astonishing performance at the 56th Annual Eurovision Song Contest for an audience of over 100 million people in 140 countries, Newton has effectively transformed herself into a global sensation. A beautiful dynamo with a soaring, agile soprano and charmingly gregarious personality, Mika taught herself to sing at an early age by imitating famous artists she heard on the radio. She began begging her mother to invite friends over so she could have an audience to perform in front of. “”I didn’t know if I wanted to be a singer, but I knew I loved performing,” says Mika. She caught the attention of some of the music industry’s biggest players, who immediately fell in love with her spunky personality. Mika went on to release two albums and, thanks to providing theme songs to a number of popular Ukrainian and Russian films and television shows, earned herself the nickname, the “Queen of Soundtracks.”

I have trained many of today’s greatest singers - from Whitney Houston to Andrea Bocelli. I know great singers. Mika Newton is one of the most gifted, multi-faceted singers I have ever taught. Mika knows how to deliver emotionally captivating performances, which she does unfailingly. She is a superstar in the making. - Gary Catona, Voice Coach

It wasn’t long before she drew interest from JK Music Group who recognized her star potential. They invited Mika to Los Angles for a two-week recording session with legendary songwriter Walter Afanasieff, whose resume includes several Mariah Carey and Celine Dion hits. Mika also got the opportunity to perform in front of Grammy Award-winning producer Randy Jackson. “I could feel his [Randy’s] energy, and knew right away he was something special,” she says. Mika was selected in 2011 to represent Ukraine amongst 43 countries competing in the Eurovision Song Contest. Her entry “Angel” took fourth place in the finale in Dusseldorf, Germany. But the memory of her time in America still lingered, so a few weeks later, she decided to pack her backs and move across the Pacific.

In February of 2012, Mika released her debut American single, “Don’t Dumb Me Down.” Directed by Mark Klasfeld, who has worked with the likes of Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, and Jay-Z, the video premiered on MTV’s Buzzworthy and came in the top 5 highest rated, most viewed, most shared videos of the week on their official website. On October 2nd 2012, Mika officially released her second single, “Come Out and Play,” and followed that with a promotional tour, performing live in New York City, Las Vegas and Miami. At the beginning of 2013 her song caught the attention of heavyweight British DJ and producer Paul Oakenfield, who successfully transformed “Come Out and Play” into the perfect summertime dance floor beat.

“Mika rocks the mic in the studio, and has the voice and talent to be a pop sensation,” says Oakenfold, who has remixed artists such as Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Snoop Dogg, Britney Spear, Justin Timberlake, and more recently, Bruno Mars. Together, Mika and Oakenfold made an exclusive appearance at the Winter Music Conference in Miami Beach (March 2013). They performed in front of a packed venue of over 2,000 club goers, and afterwards, the crowd was in awe of Mika’s performance. In April 2013, Mika began performing acoustic shows throughout Los Angeles at the legendary music venues The Viper Room, The Hotel Cafe, Room 5. Mika’s new music video for “Magnets” recently premiered exclusively on OK! Magazine online. Her latest debut was for the music video for her second American single “Come Out and Play” at the Lily Bar & Lounge in Las Vegas, NV. The video was directed by Ali Zamani, who’s worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, and Lil Way. Mika Newton was also featured in October ’13 issue of MAXIM magazine.
